6 bottles of 2012 "Vivens", Chateau Durfort-Vivens, Bordeaux, France
A private offer of super-premium wine from one of Bordeaux's most prestigious estates
6 bottle case of 2012 "Vivens" by Château Durfort-Vivens, Margaux, Bordeaux, France (12.5% alcohol)
The story behind the wine
Château Durfort-Vivens, now owned and run by Gonzague Lurton, is one of the finest in Margaux. The 1855 classification of Bordeaux's greatest wines ranked Dufort-Vivens as a Second Cru Classé.
"Vivens" is the second wine of the estate and was first produced in 2004. It predominantly comes from younger vines and selected parcels and is designed to be approachable at a younger age than the estate's Grand Vin. However, the same love is lavished on this wine (each plot is vinified seperately and aged for 16 months in 30% in new oak and 70% one year old barrels). As such it presents remarkable value.
